Default American express

This question comes up so many times about establishing credit when you move back to the UK so just thought I would share. If you have a current American express card and have held the account for at least 3 months and it is in good standing then you can exchange it for a UK Amex. All you need is your account number, address and phone in UK, and UK bank details. It can be done online or over the phone. This is a great way to start building up your credit in the UK by using the credit you were given in the country you are leaving.

That is good to know, particularly since I do have an Amex card here in the US.

This sounds great. As I am moving back in June/July I have signed up for a AMEX - this will be great to start to build some credit that will transfer to the UK. Thanks for the heads up
