I am from Leyland/Preston originally, and have been living in the US for the past 6 years. We are moving to Manchester Centre in the summer... small world.

Good luck with your move, it is very overwhelming and only now after 3 months do we feel like things are a little more settled. The hardest thing for us has been EVERYONE has a comment to make about how mad you are coming back here, after 3 months of it you do kind of feel like punching them
Hope you enjoy all the things you have missed, still can't believe the amount of choice in all the supermarkets and everyone understands our accent.

I've been in the UK for 3 months (husband is a Brit, I'm an Aussie). Like you, everyone asks us WHY we left Australia and I'm also thinking of punching the next one who asks, I also love the variety in supermarkets (especially the fresh seafood) - but in the case of my accent, no one understands it

Apart from the 3 posts today this thread is a year old...and as such would have been automatically closed in a few days. I will therefore close it now.
