Description:
Safety Advisor required to provide plan, supervise and coordinate the HSE functions of the designated Unit under direction of the Safety Compliance Unit (SCU), Group Lead Safety Advisor.
• You must have been employed in the oil and gas industry for a minimum of ten years, five of those years of employment will be in a safety role and in the drilling industry, concurrent experience in a safety / drilling role would be preferred.
• Previous experience in a safety role in an H2S environment for a minimum of 12 months.
This is a 28 day on / off rotation role working offshore and onshore on major oil & gas projects in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Your off rotation can be taken in the UK (flights provided) if needed.
Principal Duties
• Measure compliance via various contractor compliance audits and physical work site inspections.
• Assists in the development of formal safety programs for departments in the area of responsibility, ensuring consistency with Company and Business Line policies, principles and practices.
• Predominantly rig based to allow frequent on-site inspections of drilling and workover sites to evaluate the adequacy of the programs, advising on compliance, Client standards, policy, procedures and instructions.
• Advises contractors and rig based senior Client Representatives of deficiencies.
• Develop corrective actions affecting operation’s compliance to company accepted standards. Follows up to ensure compliance or application of equally effective alternative based on sound HSE principles.

Minimum Requirements, Education;
• International recognized Safety Professional qualification, for example; a) NVQ Level 3 in Health & Safety or equivalent. As a minimum NEBOSH certificate in general safety or equivalent.
• The incumbent will be a member of a professional safety body e.g. IOSH (The Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) or IIRSM (International Institute of Risk and Safety Management) or American Society of Safety Engineers.
