Re: Young Fun and Moving to Dubai
Evening,
New to the Forum so firstly hello! Long story short I'm Ben, I'm 25 and currently live in Dartford (Kent) and due to move to Dubai within a month with work.
Errr... well the main reason I'm on here is to get an idea if there are many or any "younger" people from the UK out there who can show me the ropes and simply meet up for a drink etc once I'm out there? Sadly not gonna know anyone!!! Think the main thing is probably telling me what I can and cant get away with due to the strict religious laws and such out there!
Anyway feel free to contact me it would be lovely to hear from you all!
Thanks
Ben

Hey Ben, you'll be fine, don't listen to all the drunk people in here; you just need to make sure that the job you're accepting in ligitemate. employer should pay for basic stuff such as visa, health insurance... etc.
You need to make sure you have proper residential documents after entering UAE. avoid unacceptable behaviors in public (use common sense). don't dring and drive. have a liquor license... welcome to beatiful and safe UAE.. all the best. Mohammed

lol ... seriously, define fun? If you mean being wild in public then yes, I would advise Ben as you did, but if all the 'fun' is performed indoors with proper liquor license then who can blame ya! cheers

EMH, sorry if you found my reply an odd one. maybe I was not referring to you at all. your comments, and others by the same token, are highly appreciated. I was referring to certain replies!

The general advice is indeed good, apart from the comments suggesting he'll be fine working for that company. Do you really want to encourage even more misselling from untrained salespeople?

Dartford, ignore this twat. He's a serial troll and is frequently banned, the last time only a week or two back. He won't last long again, but just beware he's seriously unbalanced. Most of the people who post on here do one of two things to queries like yours: tell you something useful, or harmlessly rip the piss out of one another. E6B isn't like the rest of us.

a financial advisor that hasn't checked the company he's coming to work for ?
be careful fella, never assume anything, get everything in writing in triplicate and then still expect to be screwed. A pessimist is never disappointed
it's still can be a canny place by the way, but do your homework first
