Used to drive a BMW M3 at home - decided I needed something a bit higher up for here.

I'm driving a R32 atm, still deciding what I'll get when I move back to Dubai though.

Are you kidding? Tuned and customized cars are massively popular in the UAE, particularly amongst the locals. Want nitro boost? You got it, baby....

Here's a link to a listing of specialist automotive co's in the UAE:

I don't mod my cars, change them too often. I have a Volvo XC90 V8 and Mrs RK has the Volvo C30 T5 which she loves.

My bike on the other hand, totally cutomised and modified. Where to start.....

Re; What type of car do you drive.

2007 Honda Accord!

I have to ask can a foreigner get a souped up car through the Police/TRA test?

Certainly years ago you couldnt. Remember having to remove 2 way radio antennas and bright lights from the back of Landrovers etc!!

Maybe times have changed? No interest in cars except to get from A to B

Do most expats purchase vehicles outright or use local finance? Looking at this and another thread it is a little confusing. We are currently provided a vehicle by my company but if we are here longer it would make sense to buy, plus we need two vehicles. Not to mention the cost of hiring one is more than owning two I believe.

I drive a Ford Explorer - it's nearly on it's last legs, handles like a tank and if you scrape off the layer of dust, it's black.
