One of the projects gathering dust now until the end of the year is a 1950's chevy truck that is hald way through having a lexus 4.3L v6 being wedged into it. The donor and recipient may die in the transplant operation.
Dunno if you're building it as an offroad beast but if you fancy seeing some amazing bespoke builds have a looksee on the difflock offroad forum builds thread. Theres one guy on there who is a machining genius. Some awesome engineering.

No this is to be a drag strip type conversion, its running reasonably low to the ground.
Once up and running, I am going to see what is possible with ridiculous engine modifications

Nice. If you like home builds still check it out. There's one where he started with a little Suzuki 4x4 and an Alfa 3.6 V6 lump (I think). Since then he's pretty much redesigned and rebuilt the chassis, axles and hubs from a G Wagon or a Patrol (can't remember), fully re-designed 3 point suspension (all designed himself in CAD) with the majority of the parts being home fabricated and modified and the engine quite a bit. As I say he's an excellent machinist and engineer, for instance he decided the sump on the Alfa lump was too low hanging so he billet machined himself a new one from an alloy block and then just for shits and giggles anodized all the now custom connectors (in his garage) in an old basin. The work is of a phenomenal quality. Now pretty much all that is left of the Suzuki is a few body panels. It's full on engineering p0rn!
