Re: A wages question
24,000AED a month after the company has paid for all your expenses
Housing allowance: yes Domestic bills paid: yes Transport allowance YES Telecoms allowance: no Domestic bills paid: yes School fees: Yes Medical: yes Flights home: yes This is more than enough... Schooling and rent are the main 'strugglers' here. If your company is footing the bill for them, then its a thumbs up.. All inclusive deals albeit apparently a rare deal here, are pretty much the norm in the engineering sector Im in O&G and its absolutely the norm.. |
Re: A wages question
I have a similar question after taking the housing which is a 3 bed aprt, schooling 32000 for primary and 55000 for secondary, utilities paid by company, tickets provided by company, we are left with 19150 aed per month. we are a family of 4 ( 7yr old boy and 8 month baby) not to mention we are getting 30000aed to furnish the place .bonus on comp performance and year end is i guess 1.5 % of base salary.
we dont have any loans to pay back home so is this enough to save a bit plus pay for the car and groceries. Thanks so much for all your time. |

Re: A wages question
Thank you for the reply.
One step further is that we have been offered two jobs. High level specs for one were listed before for a job in Dubai. The other one is a job in Abu Dhabi with following specs. 1. Money in hand 21300 2. Accomodation: 115K 3. School per child 10K (peanuts). Much less than the other job. 4. Yearly bonuses range between minimum of 3 to max of 6,7 monthlies. 5. Furnishing 55K initially and paid every 5 years. So 10.5K added every year. 6. Tickets paid to Canada, business class. That said this will be monies in hand around 46K first year and then 57K from next year. So we can travel economy for 20K back home and pocket the rest. The other company provides 1 ticket per year back home and then 90%/50% off tickets unlimited to anywhere, because it is an airline. Biggest thing we are worried about is that accomodation seems to be more expensive, if available, in Abu Dhabi than Dubai(The Dubai company will pay either 120K or give us a 3 bedroom around 1600 sq.ft apartment in pretty good building with a swimming pool and GYM etc but in Al Nahda. All utilities and parking paid for) Also the children's education fund is for primary 22K less per child and for secondary 45K less per child. But that said the bonus monies and furnishing seem to be higher in the Abu Dhabi company. We have been struggling with this equation, deciding between one or the other and have not been able to come up with an answer. We would really appreciate all the advice and help any of you can offer in this regard. We do have to make a decision by this weekend. thank you. |
Re: jetfixer a wages question
Hi Jetfixer, Was this job for Emirates? Was it a management position or as an engineer? I'm interested in going over also as a shift manager. Do you know what the rates are? Have you had an interview yet?
cheers |
Re: A wages question

Position: Manager Company: large private UAE company Base salary: Dhs.28,000/-per month Housing Allowance Dhs.8,350/- per month (if single Status) Car Allowance: Dhs.2917/- per month Fuel Allowance: Dhs.700/- per month Utility Allowance: Dhs.750/- per month Annual Leave: 38 calendar days. Annual Air Tickets: For Self and eligible family members (business class) Annual bonus: around 6 base salaries (= Dhs. 168,000 per year) Medical Insurance: For Self and eligible family members Education allowance: Dhs 72,000 (if I have children ) Thank you 4 your suggestions Marco ps: I red some of the post. I think 75k per month I a pretty good offer, not very easy go get. |
Re: A wages question
well done, I would guess your pretty happy with that. YOu will need to add to the housing allowance though but with a basic of 28k that won't be a problem at all.
