Default Visiting Abu Dhabi For A Holiday?

Hi,
Just wanted to ask everyone is it worth visiting Abu Dhabi for a short break?
Or can anyone recommend anywhere else to go?
I am currently living in Bahrain and would like to check out a few more places around the GCC while I am living here.
Already done Dubai so that one is off the list of possibles.
Look forward to hearing some suggestions. Thanks

If you are in Bahrain, then a weekend in AD would be an OK break. The mosque is fantastic, the beach is nice and if you can time it around an event at YAS then event better. But, there isn't a massive amount to do.

Hire a car and make a day trip to Jebel Hafeet just outside Al Ain. Dawn or dusk is the best time to be at the top.

Definately recommend Oman as an alternative in the GCC.

Thanks for the feedback guys, was thinking of long weekend or a few nights in AD around end of September early October. Might just give a go.

Absolutely agree, if you are sports minded, there is Wadi Adventure at the base of JH. If you are a cyclist, climbing JH is a must. Tough but the scenery is nice!!
