ooh I must have missed that bit when I sneaked off to iron some shirts!! my take is if that SMS hadn't gone out it the show would have gone on. Someone in authority was notified and that is why it was cancelled. Surely the twitterati haven't got that power?

Some are saying it was the mentality of a bully. I saw a certain amount of bandwagon jumping, but views have been expressed both ways.
I do wonder however, whether there's have been the same reaction from most if the event had been a gig by a person/band that was genuinely popular. I suspect not.
Fsacinating from a sociological point of view.

It did actually start before the SMS went out, the SMS inflamed it. I am with Meow and I am also suprised that there wasn't more respect shown to Sheik Ahmad bearing in mind his position in the UAE hierarchy.
