Tax implications - working in Riyadh
I have just been offered a package to work in Riyadh, however it initially looks very good, but i could do with some guidance on wether or not I will pay UK income tax.
my situation is as follows :-
have partner ( not marred yet )
2 kids age 3 and 14,
mortgage,
car etc.
My contract is for 2 years on a renewable basis, and for the initial 2 years would work in Riyadh on my own leaving family at home. I will be returning home for 1 week every 6 weeks throughout the contract.
Employer is willing to pay me whichever way i want, cash, in bank, split between cash and bank. How do i go about getting the money into my UK current account to cover the direct debits etc
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mick
I was advised by my accountant mate that, you have to be out of UK for 3full Tax years to be currently exempt, thats april to april so if ya leave in may that year dont qualify as a full year.
Also as we gonna rent our house I have to submit tax return each year but just show rent from house not, overseas income. Interest bit of morgage not taxable only rent income. So guess in your case you have to do some kind of return, but think you have about 4500 tax free income before you pay tax in uk. Possibly only what what you need to send back through bank. Also Ive seen some mention of an offshore HSBC account, but im not an expert.
