Default UAE Sat Nav

I need to purchase a sat nav for the UAE. I've been over here for a few days now, getting my car at the end of the week and don't have a clue of how to move around - I'm positive I'll get lost!
I can't see sat nav in any of the shops - HELP!!!!
I'll buy you a beer or two!

Geant, Carrefour, Sharaf DG (Times Square, SZR) all have them.

Sharaf had a good selection last time I looked.

How does a sat nav here actually work...?

I mean since no one uses road names or numbers, can you programme a satnav to 'al-Qasimia area opposite ADNOC, behind an-Noor tower which is diagonally behind the small mosque on the corner by so-and-so's shop' ?

Abu Dhabi is easy to navigate around - it is on a grid system. Just remember that most people still use the following old street names instead of the new ones (this confused the **** out of me for the first few weeks)....

Airport Road = 2nd Street
Muroor Road = 4th Street
Electra Street = Sheikh Zayed Street
Passport Road = Al Falah Street
