Tax Liability when moving abroad
Hi,
I'm new and have got a couple of questions about moving abroad to work.
I have been offered a job in Muscat and am seriously considering it.
The main issue I have got is that I have been told that if I move abroad in the middle of a tax year I am still liable to pay tax in the UK for the remainder of that tax year. Is that true? I would probably be going in August so would probably have been in the UK for longer than the 90 days that I've heard is the limit for being in the UK before paying UK tax.
This would obviously have a big impact on my decision and so any help or pointers would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

No it is not true. Under split year rules of the Statutory Resident Test, providing you remain working overseas until 5th April 2016 you will be non resident from when you start working in Muscat in August 2014.
