Sponsoring a Step Child in Dubai
Hello, this is my first thread as a new member so sorry if i make any mistakes.
My husband has just accepted a job in Dubai and we are looking to move in May/June time. We have 2 children 12 and 3yrs with the eldest being a child from my previous marriage. His father has agreed to allow us to take him to Dubai to live with us and i am now trying to arrange a letter of authority for a notary public to legalise before being sent to the foreign commonwealth office etc.
I have been searching and been unable to find any example letters of authority. Has anyone had this experience and could point me in the right direction of a standard letter or just confirm what details need to be included for the letter to be accepted by the UAE embassy. I would rather get it right first time as the notary public is going to cost £80.
Thank you for any help or advice you are able to give me and i look forward to reading more and more threads to help with our move.
Kath

If you are worried about spending 80 quid on getting your stepchild into Dubai, you are going to be in for a mighty shock when you arrive. That is peanuts, my friend. It costs over 1,000 quid just to sponsor a maid. Nothing comes cheap over here.

Hi Kath and welcome, if I remember rightly you just need a letter of consent from your ex that is notarised and stamped by a lawyer.

Thank you Blue Cat for the reply. It really is that simple then i just imagined a form or something. Better put my letter writing skills to some use now then and put the wheels in motion.
