So how much is enough?

So how much is enough?
What makes a good package?
When I last worked in Saudi I actually took a pay cut from what I was getting by contracting in Europe. I imagine I would have to do the same again if/when I move to the Middle East. But what makes a good salary nowadays in Dollars? I'll be looking for a package that includes housing, schooling, travel etc, but im a bit unsure as to how much to ask for money wise.
Grade wise i fit somewhere in the middle. Probably more middle upper than middle lower.
Any help guys. Thanks.

I don't do dollars - have you got any children and would you want a villa??? that would be a good starting point.

In terms of salary is $150K to $200K do-able? With current exchange rates thats only £75-100K. Reason why I ask is because Im going to be in talks in the next few days with one consultancy in Saudi and money is one of the agenda points.

Yup have two kids (2+4), so at least a 2 bed would be required. Appartment would be Ok if dubai (expensive), or villa in saudi. But I was hoping to have an accomodation allowance to cover that.

JD knows about Saudi. For Dubai I would say that you need a good basic, that is up to you to determine.
Housing - 3 bed villa 160,000 dhs or more!
School for both kids - when they are 4.
Medical Insurance
Return Flights annually
Sorry can't help on Saudi
Read the wiki at the top as well about Saudi.

Re: So how much is enough?
I'll settle for even a 2 bed at the moment as the kids are small. 3 bed would be nice but not essential. It would be nice to grow into a bigger place. Also if moving to Dubai then I'll probably buy. makes more sense then renting.
BC- Thanks I'll have a look at the wiki as well.

Re: So how much is enough?
I have got a two bed apartment and they are going for about 115 - 120 now, some buildings are more. it is bigger than a 2 bed on the Springs and I haven't heard of two bed villas anywhere else. Trust me you could never cope with two kids in one of those, you wouldn't even get two beds in the second bedroom never mind all their associated paraphenalia. Stick out for as much as you can get. Whatever they offer you, refuse and get a good deal.
