Ramadan Drinking in GCC

Ramadan Drinking in GCC
I'm going to have a long weekend the 1st weekend of Ramadan other than the UAE is there anywhere you can drink after Iftar? I know Qatar is Dry, Saudi and kuwait obviously dont enter the mix is Bahrain or Oman dry??
I vowed never to set foot in the UAE ever again after last time but obviously the need for a Beer in a bar is greater than stupid principles.....Suggestions?

in my experience though not quite GCC, Egypt, Yemen and Jordan are all open for business during ramadan and not terribly long flights.

Oman is dry. Even the booze shops for licence holders close. The queue the week before is normally huge. The shops love it as people over-buy!
The restaurants make more money from overly expensive Iftar buffets & smoothies than they would by being non-Halal and serving booze.
Unfortunately, none of the restaurants are open during the daytime for us heathens, although in the last couple of years a few have done discrete take-aways during lunch times.

well if you go to Amman stay in the Intercon or Meridian you can have a nice weekend, you are close to the Dead sea, and Amman has some Roman shit if you are interested in local sightseeing.

I am a member of Intercon, so that works. I was born in Lincoln, I have seen enough Roman Shit to last a lifetime. Is it better that Cairo? Both are expensive flights though at nearly 4k.

But it has a lot more on offer than Amman to look at like the pyramids and museums, Nile cruises and a lot of bars and clubs. Plus the Intercon isn't too bad here.
If you want to chill out or a beach weekend, see if there are some cheap deals for Sharm El Sheikh as its suffering a lot now with no tourists. You could get lucky, plus its closer than Cairo.
