Hello all, I'm new here.

I'm a single guy, moving to Riyadh in a few months for work. I got 160k Riyals from the company for housing. Any suggestions on where I should live? Compound or luxury furnished housing (in a hotel, for example) would do. I want something really nice and have budgeted to put in up to 140k of my own cash, for a total of 300k. Any suggestions?

As a young single man who isn't exactly going to be having loads of crumpet over, I'd say save the 140k. Invest it in Dubai at the weekends on beer, hotels and getting laid.

You won't find housing on a really nice compound, they are all full with waiting lists.
BUT, you could always ask one of the Saudi princes to let you rent a room in a palace..:P

Seriously , look through the threads on compounds in Riyadh on BE...and most importantly, the threads where people were advised on non availability on compounds, then choose to not believe it, went to Saudi and got seriously fu...d.
