Hi again Angela
I asked my husband your questions. This is what he says about VIVES compound -
"That's where a mate of mine lives. It's nice, but it's a long way from site (an hour's drive +, if he takes the southern ring road and leaves early). If he's working at Digital City, it's doable: straight down the northern ring road - but he'll be going with the traffic, so it will take longer than the distance would lead you to believe..."
My husband lives in the Andorra compound. It is very nice with a number of pools and lots of other facilities. It is pretty expensive though. Travelling from there out to site took quite a while as well. He is now based at Digital City and it is a much better journey. When he leaves work late and traffic is ok, he can be home in 15 minutes. However, that is NOT normal. The traffic in Riyadh is dreadful so you might want to think about where you move taking that into account.
Hope that helps!
Lisa
