If this expat tax is true I wonder how they will impliment it. First they need to establish you are working overseas and then do something through the consulates and embassies....not as easy or cost effective as it seems.
I can't imagine what they will do if you don't pay - stop giving consular services to their own citizens (and thereby breach UN law).
It will cost more to retrive tax than the revenue gained unless they have the support of the local government at every level.
Seeing the amount the Embassy already charges just to stamp a piece of paper or renew your passport here I think they have a bloody cheek even thinking about taxing us.
My missus is a Filipina so I might see what I have to do to become a cabayan...
