OSAMA BIN LADEN DEAD

Re: OSAMA BIN LADEN DEAD
Not as I understand it - authorization was given was week, not the mission. But in any case, if it did happen last week, they at least kept the announcement back. Can you imagine how different Saturday would have been in central London if this had been made public before?

Not at all, no suggestion of that in anything I've posted. Though it would have been better to take him alive and I'd happily condone using pretty much any means to extract whatever knowledge he had in his warped brain.
I would agree with various comments that the reaction of people dancing around is downright stupid and unhelpful. It would be nice to retain some moral high ground but they've managed to throw a big chunk of it away instantly unfortunately.
If you were to design a set of triggers for sleeper cells to let rip, this would certainly be one of them. First one within 72 hours I'd say.

I have been watching CNN online, etc. and was just reflecting to myself about the reaction from the public in America and how it could fan the flames of the fanatics.
I know bugger all about politics but I didn't think it was helpful to have young ones dancing and singing in the street, it was kind of like incitement I felt and I am just talking as an observer.
I also reflected that no way could I see the young in the UK carrying on like this..........different mentality altogether.

The idea generally is to keep these people alive to prevent them becoming martyrs. For some reason though the US didn't want him speaking in a witness box!

He's VERY good at Final Fantasy I hear. Although he's confused at the lack of virgins.

Personally I was more affected by the news that Our 'Enery had died.
