Good morning everyone!
My name's David and I'm a 25 year old TV Producer/Voiceover guy
who has just moved out here from London (I know that really sounds like an introduction line on Blind Date!).
I've been here 3 weeks now and I love it so far. A massive group of us moved out here to work for Al Jazeera so there will probably always be a few of us around no matter where you go! This being said, for me personally, it would be great to meet some more people and explore more of Doha as there are only so many times we can chill by the pool or go for a night out in Wahm!
If anybody has any hints/tips for cool places to see or fancies grabbing a beer/coffee/whatever then let me know as living in a hotel can sometimes make you feel a little landlocked!
Speak soon
David

Try camping out at the mangroves. A group of us just did it this weekend and its fantastic. Great views and noone too bother you. Dont have to worry about drinking in public etc either
Aside from that
Try any of the upcoming dhow parties. There is at least 1 or 2 every month and they are a great chance to meet expats. Its also the season all the Djs start playing at the beach parties.
On facebook try
WGO qatar
doha nightlife
global deejays
They are normally pretty up to date on things coming up and going on
Check out some of my old threads for things to do in Doha
Keep an open mind
If you want to make this place good it will be
Lastly welcome to Doha

Don't be telling everyone our little den or tranquility
Also try dune bashing out at sealine - or go into sealine for jet ski's and a few beers for something different.

It is getting better but it's still a backwater to be honest . Anything that makes my life easier is great , if it's crap i just try and ignore it and count the cash because that's what i'm here for .

You really need to put the leg work into living here in Qatar . Once you get a decent circle of friends and get the feel for the place you can do ok .

I'll throw my name into the ring if anyone fancies a beer. I moved out here a month ago, and my work colleagues don't provide much entertainment. Give me a shout!

Could try and arrange a wee meet then in the next coming weeks. Been a while since the last one. I assume the usual suspects as well as some new faces will be attending(im still a relatively new face)

Im mega busy during the week, and probably won't be able to at the weekend. I have a deadline on the 11th, so how does the 13th, 14th suit everyone? Better that than to squeeze it in during the week right?
