Need some input - Going back to the USA
Hello,
I need some feed back on my situation; I arrived in AD in Mid-May on a Visit visa and started work right away. With the escalating housing cost and not been able to find a place a half way acceptable and the employer not willing to increase the housing allowance; we decided to go back to the USA as I still have my old position secured.
* The employer paid for myself, wife and 2 kids one way fair to fly to AD and also 3 weeks in a hotel.
* I still did not get a Visa stamped on my passport; I still did not sign the "work contract", I did however do the medical and blood test.
My questions are:
1- Do I have to give the customary 4 weeks notice? my offer letter only stated that I am in probation for 4 month. I can not do the 4 weeks because I can not afford to pay for the hotel anymore.
2- Do I have to pay them back for the ticket and the 3 weeks hotel stay?
3- Any other fees/cost they will ask me to pay?

Do a runner, pal...they won't be able to stop you leaving...or tell them you have to return home for a family funeral or something and don't come back...it happens quite often here.
