Re: Moving to Dubai
there is a quiz night every Monday down at the Rydges Plaza Hotel. There are also organised nights out each month. Keep an eye on the sand pit. Hope you have a good flight and don't forget to stuff your face at Greggs at the airport!

We might try and squeeze in a night out the end of November, beginning of December as well...if someone cares to organise it...

Re: Moving to Dubai
yeah...you are welcome to come and join us at the Mondaynight pub quiz if you like (although most likely there won't be one this Monday) but certainly the Monday after that...there will be info on the board...

Re: Moving to Dubai
we sayed in Al Barsha when we first arrived (apartments) - some nice parts, lots of construction, not that much of a community feel, due to all the hotel apartments. Easy access to Jebel Ali at least.
Are you coming alone or with a wife and/or kid(s)? Not trying to pry, but it will make a lot of difference as to whether you stay in Al Barsha or not.

It is dusty and a construction site, but not a bad place to be location wise.
