Motorcycles in Riyadh
#1
I am a biker and would like to consider buying a bike wheen I get to Riyadh. I have seen bikes there - like cockroaches they mostly seem to come out at night ha ha - must be the heat. I am not into Harleys but would like to know if BMW or Yamaha are present in KSA.
Thanks
Peter

With the poor state of driving here i think its best to stay on 4 wheels.
The idiots on the road here you will not last very long on a bike.

Bollocks! If you want to ride, you ride. I've been all over the Middle East on my bike and yes; it can be challenging but that's part of the fun. Ride within your limits, keep the bubble around you and use all the riding skills you have to avoid problems.
For BMW, KTM and Guzzi try http://tristarksa.com/. I can provide an intro in the Harley Groups if you decide that's the way to go.
Ride safe and have fun!

Thanks. Sorry to get y'all het up. I only said I am not into Harleys because I did not see them as suitable in KSA. I have seen (heard) them around Riyadh.
Mr Roadking, have you heard of Dave Barr?

The guy that rode around the half way around the world on a Sportster? Saw one of his books and browsed through it. Can't say I know him but, if it's the same guy, I have heard of him.

Yes dave Barr is a double amputee Viet Nam Vet. He has ridden everywhere imaginable on a Harley incl up through Africa in the wet season. Lives in California.

You will find BMW bikes at the BM car dealership along the Khurais Rd opp Zahid Tractor.
Honda bikes can be found at the main Honda car dealership nr exit 13 on the same Khurais rd.
You will find Suzuki by going north from the old airport on the LH side before the AlRuba street junction.
And H.D are close to exit 5 on the north ring road. They offer free coffee downstairs and always a warm welcome. They will also assist with your bike licence.
Good luch. DD.

Was it rude...
Maybe I'll get a VPN.
As mentioned already, Khrais rd, just off exit J13, I'm pretty sure I've seen an R1 in a window next to the Hummer garage there.
