Actually. I utterly despise 'proper' brunch.
Am I the only one?
I'd echo the recommendation of Saladicious but I doubt that would appeal to Jeeper.
You've got to head down Diyafah way to get the good stuff :-)

Re: 'Life' in Dubai
frankly I almost prefer to grab a sandwhich or somat from a petrol station cafe. i'm only looking for lunch for the purpose of sustainance. I don't eat lunch as an 'activity' unless it's a full on 'brunch' all afternoon for some function.
That's why the outlets are choca block......everyone's out at these eateries purely for something to do....they'll sit there for hours. It's so sad here. We have nothing else do to but sit in More cafe?!?! (I refuse to type it with a captial letter not in its proper place)

Still, summer forces us to venture to places like Sharjah just for the novelty of walking around the Sahara Centre rather than the usual Dubai suspects

Yep. If you don't want to sunbathe or drink yourself into a stupor, there's sod-all to do in Dubai in the summer apart from go to malls or restaurants. Roll on October-ish, when it'll be tolerable to go for walks along the Creek or in the parks again.

We only have Sahara and Mega Mall...
On Friday, we went to MOE, took us an hour to park!!!
