What happens if you point your web browser at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1 (note no "www." in front of them)? With most routers, that takes you to the router config page (usually via a security dialog where you have to enter a username and password - check the router's manual for the factory defaults), where you set up security etc.

What does the router manual say about setting up the security? Does it tell you to go to a different IP address?
Otherwise, try doing the same thing using Firefox rather than IE. IE is little more than a massive security problem anyway - Firefox is much more secure.

My router is a pain in the ass... however to access the admin section you can't go via the IP method like Eeyore's advice, I have to connect direct via USB - does it have a USB connection? If so try to connect this way with no other active connection and then try the IP method. Might work....

Jeeper, what's the actual model number of your router?

If you connect a 'normal' adsl router in this way, the thing might well be working as a hub and not as a router. That means you'll be effectively connecting all computers on the home network directly to du's network. It'll be du serving IP addresses, and hence the local-only network "192.168.x.x" is very unlikely to work (unless that's also what du chooses).
I still recommend replacing it with a proper wireless router. Much less pain that way!

Doesn't matter. I took it back and swapped it for a Linksys gismo......just a router and while the setup CD didn't work that came iwth it....a phone call to the dubai helpline number had me chatting to a friendly chap in a call center in india somewhere and we set it up manually over the phone...it was all done in a matter of minutes...well about 45 of them anyway.
Up and running now.
