another asshole with the personal insults. stereo assholes, in fact.
kindly show me the post where I bullied the woman. if you mean the post where i tried to point out that life could be a lot worse (ie put her troubles in perspective) then I'd say you have misinterpreted my post.

It would be nice to show a bit more sympathy, in the spirit of Ramadan and all that.

The point is this: Being a UK Ex Pat in many countries of the world exposes the individual to hardships and risk that are not encountered at home. This includes much of the Middle East.
I recognise that is probably an alien concept to you, given that your experience seems to be confined to Dubai, but that's the truth here for many.
I generally try to assist posters here with well meaning advice and based on my experience from 10 years overseas in KSA and the Caribbean. However, I might be less than sympathetic to some posters from time to time, or god forbid, tease a member or two.
So why don't you butt out, keep your insults to yourself, and take your defender-in-shining-armour act somewhere else.

Maybe you do try to help posters, but you didn't here did you?

I like Ramadan. Office is relatively quiet so time to think and catch up. Roads are less maniacal. You can have a conversation in a bar without having to yell. Authorities are as efficient as ever. Only things I miss are The International Playboys and the occasional Maccy D's breakfast.

I think we are all taking Irich a bit more seriously than he deserves.
He made some petrol bombs?? He has 'witnessed' neighbours being beheaded, and seen people blown through windows?? I don't believe him.
I had eleven years in KSA, and never heard of anyone experiencing anything like that.

However, like you say there is a difference between saying you were in KSA when this happened and saying you 'witnessed' it or 'had friends' who were killed.
In addition, I agree with Spugsy it doesn't then justify telling someone they don't deserve to feel bad/lonely in Dubai because of what has happened in KSA.

One of the Marconi guys I went to Medain Salleh with, blown through a wall by the pool on Al Hamra where he was having a drink. Same attack, my girlfriend at the time phoning her british school teacher friend who was hiding in a corner of the living room after seeing the family shot across the street and then the bomb going off and blowing her door and windows in.
My good friend Nawfal and a few other friends by the pool at Muhaya compound, blown through a hedge after a gun and grenade attack on the main gate and a 1 ton bomb detonated after driving into the compound.
Lots of other events 2003 - 2004. I take it you weren't there then.
ill post a few pic's, shall I? Just to show you it was real..
