Help! Trying to move to MiddleEast
hello folks!
I am a new member here, have been reading posts for a long time but never joined.
Need some input on the conditions of living in Saudi.(like cost of living and etc..anything)
My husband has been applying for jobs in that area as SAP Consultant.
We are at a point in life that we might have to stay away from each other for sometime and I dont want that, we have a baby(first one) now and its not easy without dad.
Q1) Do anyone know of consultants/companied that are hiring SAP consultants
Q2) What things should we consider before making a move to M.east?
please bear with me cause I am a lil confused as to what/ how i should ask. I have never lived in that area and currently reside in chicago.
Thanks for reading and your input.
any help is appreciated

Re: Help! Trying to move to MiddleEast
Welcome to the board.
Why Saudi? Lot's of people will tell you to stay well clear - some will tell you it's a good place to live.
What line of work is he in? Sorry, missed Q1 - well, it is a Public holiday here, and i'm bloody working!!
Unless there is a particular reason to go for Saudi, i'd suggest Oman, Bahrain, UAE in preference.
I'd suggest you search for the answers to your questions, as there is a lot of info here on Saudi, if you just look.

Saudi....be mad if your married with a kid...it's a place to make quick cash and bail before your luck runs out.
As for recruitment sites, there are loads of them, the wiki link is a good spot to start as mentioned...and also, along with most jobs, networking, so get in contact with people you know, especially if you are linkedin.com users.

not that the wiki is that hard to navigate, ME, Financial Section, but check out the other parts to the ME for general info.
