Default Finding a place to rent in Dubai

Hi all,

I have just been offered a job in Dubai however they need to move out in 4 weeks (1st Aug). The company have offered me free accommodation for 1 month however im not sure this is enough time to find a place to stay. Is it realistic to find a place to say within 1 month keeping in mind Ramadan starts in Mid Aug?

Thanks
N

It depends on where you want to be and what your budget is. But yes you can find places easily within a month. Are you moving family over? School places are a problem I think.

Dubai has a surplus of property to rent now with prices dropping further every few months in some areas because new properties are still being built. It's a buyers and renters market - you won't have much problems in most areas of Dubai....a month is plenty of time.

Our sister company has rented 100s of apartments in Jumeirah village, starting from Dh25,000pa for a studio, which although being a bit out of town [desert] is only 10 mins from Dubai Marina.
Although there are pool and gym, it is in a Nakheel development and therefore other facilities are basic and no supermarkets till Jan.

If you are looking for a higher quality of life this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for something cheap to get started...

Give Tim credit for being honest. He readily admitted the apartments are cheap, crap and have no facilities, but he's right in that JV is only ten minutes from the Marina.

I think you have misquoted me - it is not as bad as you make out, but certainly you should not be an illusions about the environment but there are some facilities.
