I'd be looking for a 2-bedroom place (three would be ideal - we have two kids - but that's not looking very doable, is it?). Where is BD, by the way?
Any idea on (realistic) current costs in Garhoud and Mirdiff for a 2-bedroom place? Living here would save on the commute.
thanks!

Funnily enough I have got a Lebanese girl followed by a Tunisian girl coming to view our spare room this evening...but don't tell my Landlord.

and yes, I am guessing the same thing...but every once in a while someone manages to escape from that horrid place into the warm folds of my lap...but that's not happened for a long time now...

I think you're a little bit light on the bills - 3 bed place plus TV (there is a kid) plus internet and phone (remember mobile costs too) would be closer to Dh1,250 I think.
You also have to remember all the 'fees' which will crop up all of the time. And Dh1,125 a month won't stretch very far.
I'd say unless you can share then it won't be much fun. You'll be broke the whole time. The people who all live on less than Dh10,000 all share - whole families in one room.

Internet - AED 189
We don't have "e-vision" or cable - my kids are fine
