I've been told by the embassy that it does not work for Windows Vista or Windows 7.
The instructions given for enabling ActiveX are also out of date for XP/internet explore as they don't show all the options you should enable.
1. Use only internet explorer
2. Tools/internet options/security/custom level
3. Enable ALL activeX controls and plug-in options
Now try the application. Upload the photo first and make sure it does not exceed/equal the size limit given. You can use paint.net to resize the photo if necessary.

thanks for that. ...actually that wasn't the problem-cards were. Those settings are actually found in IE 8 but about halfway down that options box under security, but tbh I used Google chrome's IE ext-tab (which worked just as well).
As for the photos - I found this very useful site to re-size the photo:
http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
5 steps to resize: click the photo and choose to limit Image dimension to 'custom' height of 160px - that usually puts it down to 3-4k (it will give you the exact size).
I still think this was a massive con - as I spent the best part of 3-4hours just doing this enjaz rubbish-doesnt add anything. I STILL had to fill in the visa form and now stand in the cue. ...I save £250-500 (depending on the agent - found those based on edgware road the most helpful) but in the end with the to-ing and fro-ing at the embassy I'm sure I will encounter -it probably would have been worth the money just to pay them.
well anyway got my printouts and so on monday its to the embassy (for more time wasting...I hope there's a good coffee place close by!)

Hi
I recently done tried to complete the process. after very tiring procees I manage to complete enjazit on line registration for saudi visa.
You must use Explorer only (no safari or firefox etc)
Second you must enable the security option (xactive) mentioned by saudi embassy
Reduce the picture file size between 3-4KB (may use online image optimizer software)
very important its not only file size you have to bring between 3-4KB but at the same time the required pxel should also be in the range mentioned by enjazit registration page.
Again very important once you manage both (file size and pixel range) then save it JPEG formate
very very important again once you save JPEG file. the file size may chage if you try to open in photo shop or paint brush. make sure file size remain 3-4 KB.
Tip: image optimizer software take minimum 100X100 pixel. if your file size is still bigger than 3-4KB open the optimized file gain in paint brush and again manage the size and pixels both.
Cutting long story short if you got a picture have both the required file size as well as pixel range mentioned by saudi website then you can upload picture
