So............

Is midnight tonight some sort of 'deadline', or not?

Is tomorrow the day they start fining you AED 20 for every day you don't get a card, or not?

Will this thread be taken any more seriously than the many previous threads about ID card deadlines, or not?

The deadline is for the application for a card, not issue. People in other emirates which has earlier deadlines, are already being fined. This I know for a fact.

So......... if 20 per day is accurate, I reckon I've got until 2024 before I lose a month's salary........ bloody hell..............

Abu Dhabi just fined a pal 1,000 for not having one apparently.

I was told 20dh a day to maximum 1000dh. Just been to KV to get the wifes medical done. We were there at 8:15 am and the queues for Emirates ID were absolutely mental.

A close friend has just had to pay AED 1,200 so I am going to investigate why this is. I have just checked and the max is indeed AED 1,000.

yes its 20 a day fine up to a max of 1000, but there may be extra charges if they failed to renew an old id card perhaps that could be it?

I know. I don't see why we need to get one, things were fine without it. And they could have easily streamlined it in with the visa renewal process.

But it is what it is, and I did it like everyone else.

yes we all know they should have done it at the beginning with visa renewal, but that didnt happen, and for people to refuse to get it and now are complaining when they are now going to be pay extra its not like its not be advertised just a little bit, but some people are still in dark, they must have their head in the sand.
