Doha New Arrivals
#1

Hi All,
We have just arrived in Doha 2 weeks ago, after spending the last 8 years in Australia. Currently staying at West Bay but are hoping to move to Abu Hamour or Ein Khalid areas in a compund mid July as kids will be going to school up that area.
Could anyone give us some recommendations for compounds in those areas? Also, does anyone know of 5 a side soccer teams for adults and kids (son is 12), have done some internet research but haven't got very far.

Welcome to Doha..... You are best to take a drive up there as the two I know Dar Al Salam and Ain Khalid Gate I think are full - security guards are the best to ask and have a look around. Football wise for adults there is Garveys which is on the opposite side of Salwa road to where you are looking at living and local - Though I don't know if they have a youth set up.

They have now opened a pub. It's called the Rose and Thistle.

It's VERY near for me, too near, I'm having to move somewhere a bit further away just to stop me spending even more time there

Try AlFardan. They have great facilities and good maintenance. I believe they have currently villas available. Alfardan Gardens 3, Abu Hamour
