I'm visiting a friend in Abu Dhabi in Feb and want to go diving. Does anyone know of a good Diving outfit that I can use whilst out there and which sites are worth going to.

Dont specifically know of any AD diving outfits as DXB is my area of specialty....so I deceided 2 look some up 4 u! Dont 4get to visit Sir Baniyas Island (the red dot below)....


"The island of Sir Bani Yas is located 170kms west of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It lies 9kms offshore from Jebel Dhanna. The island is 17.5kms from north to south and 9kms from east to west. The bare mountains in the central area rise to a height of 148 m."

Ditto, done tons in the red sea off jeddah, and pearl diving in Bahrain, but none in AD.. sorry !!

Diving not that great in AD, we only got sand! There are a couple of wrecks around but can take a long time to get there! And if it is rought then the vis is crap! Ask your friend to buy the book 'Under Water Explorer' Has all the dive clubs and sites listed. Best place to dive is the east coast, which is about a four hour drive from AD, they have mountains that side so there is more marine life. Will have to do an over nigther and most hotels/motels have a dive centre.

you should try to make an effort to get to the east coast the area is unbelievable and the diving is very good. Sand boarding is good, you always get a mouth full of sand and very tired if there is nothing to get you back up the dune!!!!
