Hey! I don't know what your story is Dean..I understand you don't care for my group, or it's mission..And thats fine, but please don't try to dissuade others from joining.

You can be Vice President working under me Miss Eck?

I'm begining to wonder, SZR, whether your constant references to this putative single-member group of yours constitutes a breach of the site rules.

In any case, there already exist a number of official groups with the aim of increasing road safety (and, indeed, health and safety in general within the UAE), which happily do not specifically target particular racial groups. I would be happy to PM you the details of some of these.

I hope that this makes you a happier little troll...

Not sure they work with cynical people, so I wouldn't bother calling them if you ever need help with work.... (JOKE!!)

I also read that some companies are moving to a 5 day working week with 2 full day weekends of Sat/Sun. This comment was made by someone working in the construction industry.

Is it going to be VERY difficult to get a good salary + accommodation + car + flights + health AND do a 5 day week in Dubai?? Am I asking for TOO much nowadays?

FYI --- I'm a Senior Quantity Surveyor with 8+ years experience. Degree qualified.

I would like to hear some views on this from people who work out there in the construction industry, or know of people. Any help and advice appreciated!
seems to be a lot of stuff posted about Dubai the myths and legends!! Simple fact is the days of huge salaries have passed. However there is still money to be made, Dubai is no longer the hardship placement of years gone by, it is actually a great place to live. Salaries are still very good a good QS can earn 30,000AED p/m with full medical coverage and annual flight and bonus. An MRICS QS can earn more than this. A lot of attaraction is the size and scale of projects which are happening in Dubai and the middle east as a whole, the likes of which have never been seen before.

Well I maybe biased as I already live here.........and I work in construction recruitment!! The proof is in the pudding but most people thrive here and enjoy the massive challenge of working on mega projects.

fair enough...but you have to admit, first post and all with a link to a company does look a bit dodgy, was giving you the benefit of the doubt
