I will be coming to UAE (Dubai) shortly on my way through to Kabul.

As a female, I don't need an abaya for Afghanistan but do need long 'flowing' tops suitable to attend business meetings.

Where could I find shops that aren't too pricey & have something that will suit a) business meetings & b) for a tall female (5'10")

Tried a search for this but there doesn't seem to be any postings about dressing correctly

UAE is hopeless for clothes as you describe- unless you think fluoro-pink-russian-whore stylee will go down well?

I'd buy clothes like you need in the UK. the female look in Kabul (so I've been told) are overcoats as daywear. Failing that try high street stores and look at their long tunics.

Thanks but I'm not in the UK & don't intend going there ... I live in a rural location & the nearest city is probably not going to be a mine of Afghan-suitable clothes!!!

There are loads of shops on the first floor of Mall of Emirates that sell that kind of thing.

plenty clothes shops here in every Mall in Dubai, won't be an issue

There is a kiosk at Dubai Festival City midway between IKEA and the main Festival Centre, which sells long gowns for anything from Dhs40 and a specialist shop in the Arabian Centre, Mirdif.

well yes, but those are normally far too ornate for business meetings. anyway, OP, I guess you need to take your chances, and decide either you go full out respectful westerner (ie no flesh showing, but no overcoat) or go local - dowdy boring overcoats.
