Bounced Cheques
Too long to post but interesting facts n figures regarding bounced cheques in the Gulf News today, evidently over half a million in the first quarter of this year and the prison is full of people who have bounced cheques and didn’t get the hell out of Dubai.
Full 2 page article, if anyone is in any doubt about what happens then its all there, also asks the typical questions, How can you pay off a debt in prison, without work, etc
It also says that there is no mechanism within the banking regime to allow such debts to be paid, but on the other hand the police are trying to say that they try to get the debtor to sort their problems out directly first. Makes good reading, nothing we didn’t know but does highlight the issue.
