Re: Biometric information in the UAE
If I can, I always sit in the back. And do the belt up. I will (but not invariably) refuse to be a passenger if a seat belt doesn't work / isn't there (even in the back), and I have also refused if there are no headrests: they're not there for comfort.
My kids also work on automatic: clunk-click every trip. They probably aren't conscious about the headrests, but then they're mainly in the UK so its generally not an issue.
I still don't get why the UAE hasn't implemented a law requiring seat belts / babyseats with no exceptions. I know that enforcement would be an issue, but at least get the bloody law in place. How difficult can it be?

Wearing a seat belt alone will not prevent accidents, however it helps protect from more serious injuries. It is best to wear it.
I recently received my new UK passport and it is a biometric passport. Inside at the back page there was a stamp sized yellow sticker saying to remove this sticker after receiving the passport, which I did. On close examination I noticed that this sticker contains a small thin aluminium rectangle, I wonder what is the purpose of this. Did I just remove the biometric chip? Where in the passport should this chip be located? Is the sticker a type of safety device that inhibits the real biometric chip from being read during the transit of the passport to me?
