Au Pair/Visitor in the UAE
What is the most convenient way to get a visitor (Au Pair) from the European Union for 8-12 months.
At the entrance, she will get visitor visa for 30 days with EU passport.
But, what to do after 30 days?
Is it possible to prolong such visa for the next 3-4 months and how much does it cost?
If we travel to Oman after 30 days and next day return to UAE, will she get new visitor visa for 30 days?
Thanks in advance

i agree dont think its allowed, you would need to sponsor them and think it would have to be on a maids or such like visa and dont think thats allowed, you cannot sponsor a maid who is the same nationality as you as well.

Practical question: You really think they will not allow us to return from Oman? This would be impossible because everybody with EU passport can enter UAE. In their law there is no restrictions related to previous stay or type of visa....

I thought that all the visa runs had stopped? I understood that a 30 day entry visa for some EU countries could be extended to 60 or 90 days by paying Dhs.500. However, there has been lots of info floating around about this as new rules came into effect on 1/8/2008.

the visas are free for the first 30 days, but after that its 500 for another 30 (I think) and a lot more in the 1,000s for 90 days so it would work out very expensive if they still allow the visa runs.
