Thanks for this. Seems like they give 6-7 months to relocate but quite surprised by their rigidity and for asking you to provide a guarantee that you will move by year end. Is that because they have issued a visa for you which has a deadline by which you must enter or because they have an arbitrary date by which new hires must enter the kingdom?
I wouldn't read too much into the passive-aggressive tone. English is a second language for the vast majority of workers at Aramco (especially after the Saudization drive) and so perhaps the choice of words come across as aggressive when instead they are trying to come across firm. I think we, in the UK, are generally used to gentle communication (I..e. 'please can you', 'would you mind', 'if possible' etc) and reading between the lines when we feel the tone is serious.
Have you been given the all clear from Aramco in terms of pre-employment checks and arrangement of accommodation etc? Also, are you relocating with family? If so, you could mention schooling as a reason for needing a bit more time..
Cheers

The reason why they rush before year end is nothing to do with visas, and everything to do with hiring requisition and budgets that only last to end of the financial year. So they have to get you in before end of Dec, or the requisition disappears and its back to square one. That explains the tone. Given it takes 6-months or more go through the typical Aramco processes, timing is everything.

Ah I was at the holding stage for a few months... I applied back in June 2024, shortlisted with my application sent to the hiring manager until November 2024. The status changed to proceeding to interview stage from Nov 2024 to March 2025. I had an online interview in mid-March 2025 followed by another interview which was face-to-face in mid-May 2025. The next day after the second interview, I had a provisional offer around 10AM along with instructions on what happens next.
I've been told that it will take up to 5 weeks to sort out the paperwork and if everything is okay with the information I've sent to them, then they'll make a formal offer. After the formal offer has been accepted, a member of the relocation team will be in touch which will take up to 4 months to relocate me and my family from the UK to Saudi.
It's starts off very slow but picks up speed as it progresses and then slows down again

Hi there...is their any update on your interview process? Did you get a job? Was their a medical done? If yes, what was included? WhAt are the benefits included? How much is the average salary for mechanical project Managers in Aramco and the benefits? Is it worth it to move with the kids?

My application is stuck on 'forwarded to the hiring organization' since May.
Anyone with link to an HR person, on linkedin or email, please kindly share.

Long time lurker and been at Aramco 5 years now...things have changed for the worse and I would not be joining on today's terms, that for sure.
Been reading this thread and it's indicative of the whole recruitment/on-boarding/offer process at Aramco, which is at best frustrating and worst a waste of time....
Happy to answer any questions, I will give you a fully unvarnished view.
The 101 is this: if you're not at least doubling your take home then do not bother.

Hello, good to see your thread. I have few enquiries. I got a provisional offer which i needed to clarify some details and negotiate a fair deal for my basic pay. The offer was sent last Thursday and asked me to accept or reject within 3 days. I did neither and sent on my query and counter offer. I am aware they dont work on friday and saturday. As of now, i am yet to hear back from them.
Any hint how long this stage takes? I am getting cold feets already with the silence.
And when you inferred doubling take home pay, do you mean doubling my net to make the basic salary only or basic salary + other allowances.

What grade code is the offer at?
There’s already a program of cost cutting and hiring freezes taking affect at aramco, so this isn’t the best time to negotiate a good deal IMO.
When I say doubling I mean doubling your current take home. You will regret only accepting an extra 20 or 30%, you won’t be getting raises and you have to realise there is no career progression in aramco for expats. It’s all about the bottom line. Don’t be fooled by tax savings or “lifestyle†benefits, or even supplements or one off payments because they are not guaranteed and have been cut in recent years.
Much of what the aramco recruiters tell you isn’t true also, don’t take any notice of the severance or end of service as it’s not guaranteed.
If you’re in a decent job with prospects really do think hard. Your career here will effectively end. If you want to save some cash for a few years the number might work for you.
So have a mimimim number and stick to that, for example, I was on £190k m and joined Aramco for an all-in deal of close to £300k
That figure has actually dropped by around 15% since I joined owing to USD functions and no raises, so it will grate you enormously if you don’t secure a decent offer on entry. I will leave in the next couple of years as I’ve hit my savings target and my career and earnings are now being damaged. You also must factor in living in KSA isn’t easy and if you have kids it will affect their development, the schooling isn’t what it once was. Saying that it depends on what you expect, I know many Latin Americans who see this place as a step up on living standards.
it’s a short-term money play, that’s all.

This is standard process, the pressure sell. Take your time and counter their offer, which will be lowballing you. I was actually offered less than my base salary by them, I was close to telling them to FO with such an insulting offer but countered with 50% more. If depends on how much they need you, your seniority and how much wasta the hiring manager has to swing salary.

They did not specify the grade but the all in deal including house and school allowance plus others doubled my current take home pay. The information i had was that the basic pay offered without allowance should double the current take home. I am yet to get a response to my counter offer anyway. Fingers crossed.

Dear all, good day! Having just joined the Forum today - specifically for the Aramco thread - could you kindly explain in very brief the GC system in Aramco.
I do need simple basics of even if GC 14 is more senior than 15 or vice-versa?
Also, what happened to the AramcoExpats Forum? I remember I saw it not that long ago online, but can't find anymore...
Many thanks in advance!
Aidan

Lo and behold, i tried negotiating a bump in the basic offered and i waited a week to send a follow up email. The HR recruiter replied that the recruitment has been placed on hold by the department.
What a shame.

I think they are more or less done for this year, aside from critical hires, and the decline in numbers you are seeing is about yearend tidying. A lot of roles that got paused early summer have been now binned or deferred to next year.
They will be working on there 2026 plan as we speak, so these roles will come into play again as and when that gets finalised. Not sure when that officially launches though.
I suspect if you were in play, you still are but they will be awaiting headcount approval for next year. This also seems to align with what someone else on here [xeroinfinite] was saying. He was shortlisted June, on hold till late Nov when status changed to interviewing, which happened in Feb or March and then hired in June or July. It is painfully long.
