Thanks to your assorted advice I have furnished my Texan HR manager with details of places at Lakes & Green community. I'll listen out for the thud as he falls off his chair.

I did a quick google seach and it seems the Dubai country club is for the chop! Do folks bother with the beach clubs, or do you just take your chances with the public beaches?
