Disgusting idea..it's not like there is a major crime problem in the UAE (well aside from white collar crime and the driving) that they would even need to consider taking DNA from non-suspected or convicted criminals...

The ID card was bad enough...and half of people I know still don't have one.

and those that do, what a waste of time, no one I have given it to accepts it as ID, they ask for your drivers license or labour card

Look seriously..... Expat ID cards, intelligent electricity meters, road engineering studies, municipality integration with UPC....

Things happen here, sure, big things too some times; but this doesn't affect the average local. So dont think its going to happen any time soon.
