Default Abu Dhabi: Shipping/import/censorship?

Hi all,

I've read a lot about how all music, books, CDs and DVDs etc. will be subject to inspection/censorship when shipped into Abu Dhabi.

Just wondered how this pans out in reality. If I ship over my PS3 and games, for example, am I likely to lose some? If I can't buy GTA 5 in UAE, can I bring it in?

What about a laptop I bring on the flight? Are they going to want to look at the contents of my hard drive when I tell them I'm moving in? I'm a keen photographer, so would they want to go through my (thousands of) photos etc?

What about books? If my wife brings a copy of The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, is it going to be taken off us for being Jewish propaganda?

That may be a ridiculous (or even offensive) thought - in which case I of course apologise; it's simply that I don't know. Any thoughts/experiences most appreciated.

Thanks

You can buy GTA 5 in the UAE. The top selling book out here for a long time was 50 Shades Of Grey. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ah, fair enough. Just didn't want all my stuff confiscated!
