Abu Dhabi Residence Visa & Latent TB
When I came to work in Qatar, as part of my pre-employment medicals I had a chest X-ray (which was normal) and skin test (PPD) for TB which was positive. I then had a blood test (Quantiferon-Gold) which was also positive. I was always asymptomatic and have never had TB.
I was therefore diagnosed with "latent TB", for which I'm taking a 9-month course of Isoniazid, but was declared as "fit for work".
I am thinking of applying for a job in Abu Dhabi. What is their policy on people with latent TB? i.e. skin/blood test positive, but normal chest X-ray and asymptomatic. My understanding is that my skin and blood tests will always remain positive.
Thanks in advance.

if you have tb they will not allow you in. to do the residence visa here its an xray and bloods so i would suspect that you would not be passed. we had a person who had a job in qatar and was fine, but when he was doing the visa here it was refused, saying he had tb, which he didnt, dont know what it was, but they wouldnt reverse the decision even if they were wrong. the company had to move him to a different country.

Won't post people in the UK get a positive ding for that because of the TB vaccine jab everyone gets? That's what the x-ray is for, to prove you don't have it.

I've heard/read that anyone with scars appearing in xray, either because of latent TB or having it previously will be rejected
