NO NO NO not the British SAS, the SAS I’m referring to formerly stood for 'Statistical Analysis System'.
Now it's just SAS.
The company ‘SAS’ that makes this software is one of the worlds largest IT company.
And the software is used by most industries from pharmaceutical to finance to marketing and government agencies and many more industries.

I bought a copy of SAS in North Weald Market a couple of years ago as well as MS Office and Adobe something or another. In the middle of the transaction the police raided the stall and detained everyone including me.

So, my advice is avoid SAS because it is dangerous and you get detained. If you want to do multiple regression then use Mathcad.

..and remember that this is Europes largest market.

Well the trader pulled out an automatic and shot three of the cops...

Actually the police / trading standards loaded up all of the software (not an inconsiderable amt) into their van and arrested the guy. I got away with the three disks after lying that I'd not bought any. The MS Office and Photoshop are still working fine - and the SAS key did not activate the programme - so my Nobel Prize for statistics was put on hold.

I never got what was going on. The disks came in cheap photocopied packages - each programme having the same key - each disk cost £3. The guy said that it was all legitimate legal software - excess licenses from a manufacturer that went bust. Why it took so long to shut down the operation baffles me because the authorities were always hassling the perfume sellers and the mobile butchers.

What was strange that the stall was there for a couple of months and was well known and not hidden away. More strangely I actually believed the guys story but when I explained the situation to friends they were sceptical and possibly called the police.

The moral of this story is - if you want to do advanced statistical sampling then steer clear of North Weald Market.

I feel very satisfied with this full disclosure of my life of crime.

If I ever end up in where ever North Weald Market is then I'll stay clear of that market. But unfortunately I can't avoid SAS, it's all I know.
'Scandinavian ariline systems' is shortened for SAS too, although the last word in the acronym seems little odd for an airlines name.
However the SAS I'm referring to is a very popular statistical software.
Bijilo, was there a reason why you bought the SAS software. I mean do you work with it?.

Cheers

I'm pleased you were able to get away without paying for them! I see no problem with quite clearly stealing from thieves... you are a Robin Hood my friend!
