Default Will a Previous K1 application hurt chances...

I want to apply for a fiancé visa for my soon to be wife who lives in the
Philippines. I am worried that the fact that I applied for one for a former
fiancé in 2000 and also another in 1995 will hurt my chances. Both
relationships were legitimate but things went wrong during the process so I
cancelled them. Will they deny the application for this even if I am
complying with all laws and regs?

Also, will this information be revealed to my fiancé during the process. I
would rather reveal it at a later time.

Thanks in advance...

I don't think they will stand in the way of your current application - it doesn't imply fraud.

However, if you have nothing to hide regarding the breakup of those relationships, why not tell her about it now?

If you are far enough along to consider marriage, why the lack of honesty?

I hope you're right!

She knows about the relationships I just never told her that it went as far
as the visa applications. I wasn't trying to hide it, I just didn't mention
that part at the time. I figured why bother?

As I mentioned to Shannon, She knows about the relationships I just never
told her that it went as far as the visa applications. I wasn't trying to
hide it, I just didn't mention that part at the time. I figured why bother?
I probably should have. They were two heartbreaking experiences that I would
rather forget.

At this point I am more concerned about how it will effect my current
application. I did notice that on the INS website 99.9% of K1 rejections
were because the two had not met as required. So that gives me hope. I
didn't see one rejections for having filed for previous fiancé(s).

I wish you a speedy visa. Move to the Vermont SC area if at all possible!

The I-129F requires you to disclose the previous applications and to give
the names of the previous fiancees. If your current fiancee just wants a
copy of the completed form to check over for any mistakes or indeed just for
reassurance, are you going to refuse to give her a copy ? (I know I had a
copy of the I129F when I went for my K1 interview, I didn't need it but I
would have thought it very very odd if my fiance had not let me seen it at
any time, I just expected both of us to have copies of ALL paperwork in case
either of us needed something sometime). You're not proposing not to
mention the previous applications on the form - are you? Of course not.

What if she went to the interview and the interviewer happened to mention in
passing your previous applications - not even as a question but just as a
throwaway remark ("so, he's really met the right girl this time?") ?? What
then? I'm not saying it would happen at all, in fact it most likely would
not, but if she had the interviewer from hell then she ought to be prepared.
I certainly think she deserves to know.
