When is BCIS Case Status Updated
When is the BCIS case status webpage updated.
Is it updated several times a day, or once a day or once a week ?
Also, has anyone with a NOA1 of January been approved ?

sfg,
I'm curious about something... If, as you say, "I don't know how oftern the status is updated.....who knows how often and when the status page is updated!", why do you need to know which service center serves the OP? How is that information going to be of any use to you in answering a question you say you don't know the answer to anyway?
Regards, JEff

Re: When is BCIS Case Status Updated
I submitted a K-1 visa petition to VSC last August. The petition was
approved and my fiance went on to get her K-1 visa, and is now in the US.
But our online status was never updated. It still says, "We have received
your application. It is taking about X days etc..." So I wouldn't put too
much trust in the online status.
We received an NOA1 but never received an NOA2. I think that and the
not-updated status are related. My guess is someone at VSC just forgot to
update an item in a database somewhere, so that the automated systems that
update the status and send the NOA's never kicked in.

This may sound like a stupid question...but how did you know your petition was approved? Did you receive a letter from the NVC or did your fiance just receive packet 3 in the mail one day? Just curious...

Re: When is BCIS Case Status Updated
buffalo,
I've had the same experience as Eric at the NSC and at the NBC - approved petition but no Status Online update to indicate approval and no NOA #2.
As you surmise, I found out about the approvals from the NVC.
Regards, JEff

Eric,
The I-485 requires that you submit a copy of the NOA #2. What did you do, or what do you plan to do, about that requirement given that you don't have an NOA #2?

Re: When is BCIS Case Status Updated
I received the letter from NVC saying that they received an approved I-129F
and would soon forward the case to the consulate. My fiance got packet 3 a
week or two later.

Re: When is BCIS Case Status Updated
I asked that very same question on this forum a while ago. Mr F. replied
that I should be okay because I have evidence that the petition was
approved. (We have the K-1, after all).
I called the USCIS info line a couple of times about it. One person told me
that she would email the VSC (where my petition was processed) and ask them
to send it to me. She also suggested I write them requesting it. When I
called a different time, they told me that wouldn't do any good and the only
thing I could do was request a duplicate by filing an I-824 (with $140
fee!). I argued with a supervisor about it but he told me that was my only
option.
I refuse to spend $140 for a copy of something they should have sent me in
the first place. So I'm going to take all the evidence I can (NVC letter,
copy of letter I wrote to VSC requesting the NOA2, copy of the online status
page that shows they haven't correctly set it to approved, etc.) to the AOS
filing and hope for the best.
