Why an initial interview. Do you have some documentation missing that will warrant a second one?

You said "initial interview", which is properly interpreted as the "first of a series". Unless there are unusual circumstances there is only *one* interview, so it's more properly called "the interview" and not the "initial interview".

Anyway, you will be asked to verify all the documentation you sent in your application package. You and your wife will likely be interviewed both separately and together, but there is nothing tricky about the interview. The examiner will attempt to verify that you are a legitimately married couple with clear evidence of comingling of finances. Be sure to take copies of everything you have already submitted. Good luck.

depends on the interviewer and part of the country. Some people have a quick and easy interview, and others are scrutinized more closely.Sometimes people have to come back because the fbi checks have not cleared at the time of the interview.
