We got approved.. Yay!
Thank you so much for all the great tips from this forum! My wife got
approved for a green card. They took away her EAD and stamped her
passport with a resident mark.
December 2005 - Sent change of status (and supporting applictions) and
EAD form
January 2006 - Got receipts for the application
March 2006 - Wife went through fingerprinting
April 2006 - Got EAD
June 2006 - Interview .... APPROVED! :-)
Basically, we went to the DHS office 30 minutes before our appointment
time. We got called almost exactly on time. The wife went first. About
10 minutes later, the interviewer called me in. She asked basic
questions. Samples of which are as follows:
1. Explain the details of your proposal (where, when, etc..)
2. When and where did you meet?
3. What did you have for dinner yesterday?
4. What time did you go to bed?
5. What side of the bed do you sleep on?
6. Do you have an alarm clock? Where is it located?
7. What's your favorite food?
8. Where was the wedding held? Who attended?
9. What did you do after the wedding?
10. Do you go to church often?
11. What did you do last Christmas?
12. Who have you met from your wife's side?
13. Who has your wife met on your side?
14. Have you been to any honeymoon?
15. Are you planning any trip soon?
They were pretty standard questions. My wife mentioned that they asked
her for any joint statements or documents proving our relationship....
and pretty much, that was it. :-)
..... So all in all, it was a nice birthday gift for her to become a
resident. She will probably like it more than the laptop that I got
her.
