Using highlighter on support docs ok?
dazman and I have our K-1 *book* ready to file! But I think some of the support docs could use some yellow highlighter, especially those I'm including as proof for other names used. I thought it would be harmless...but just when you think something is harmless....
Any thoughts/experiences on using a highlighter?
Thanks!

When talking to DAO's and ConOffs and such other people, I often say that my job as an attorney is "To make as easy as possible for you to say 'yes.'"
By all means, a highlighter is fine. Don't overdo it. BTW, it is interesting when you attend interviews to see what DAO's do with that red pen.
A further BTW, I was retained a couple of months back to kick DHS/ICE/CIS/DOJ in the ass for a marriage case that should have been approved a long time ago [they've been married for 43 years! ] I need not go into the details becuase the factual situation is one you won't see on this NG. But the AUSA and I agreed that although we would have some mighty big procedural battles [issues bigger than the people involved -- sometimes happens in litigation], the AUSA thought that her client would reopen and approve the AOS in short order.
Habeas corpus filed 11-5-03. Stay of removal granted 11-06-03. New fingerprints on 11-22-03.
Both AUSA and I return from short vacations to find that AOS granted on 12-22-03 and the actual plastic card and "Welcome To USA" NOA issued on 12-30-03.
I tell the AUSA "thank you" and say I'm shocked that the actual plastic card was issued quickly. The AUSA shared my amazement at that little fact and solemnly intoned "Even the forces of evil can move quickly when they want to do something nice." We then shared a good laugh. I filed the dismissal today.
Its feels nice when I got to do some "real" lawyering.
