We live in the North east and my husband applied for his citizenship two months
ago.He got a letter saying that he would be notified about the interview date in
another 36 days. How long would it take for the entire citizenship process to be
completed and for him to become a U.S citizen? In the meantime,if he moves to some
other place, say,Texas, would that affect his application at Vermont? Would he have to
start the process all over again at Texas? Also,I am currently on a H-1 visa.My
husband hopes to apply for a green card for me once he gets his citizenship. What is
the duration to get this green card from the date of applying? Also,do I have to
retain my H-1 status till I get the green card?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

entire citizenship process: 1 - 2 years wait move to new place: expects longer
because ins will need to transfer his file to process gc based on citizenship in
texas: 1-3 years once you apply for adjustment of status, your H1 will no longer
valid. you need to apply for EAD and AP in order travel.
